Tentay Patis arrives in Cebu

Tentay Food Sauces Inc. remains committed to the same values that guided its founder — premium quality products at the best possible prices. With that, they chose to expand in Cebu in search of new markets and new opportunities.

In 1949, Ruperta D. Javier, an enterprising housewife concocted a fish sauce (patis) and fish paste (bagoong) from the fish hauls in the part of Navotas. Aware of the delicious taste of her sauces and proud of it, she simply named both “Tentay” which was how she was popularly called. Half a century later, her nickname became a byword for sauces and the products that carry her name has then increased from just 2, to capture the tastebuds of millions of people around the world – flavoring dishes in 11 countries spanning 4 continents.

The company’s strict quality control standards has enabled it to successfully penetrate other countries that exercise strict food importation, analysis and testing particularly on food additives and preservatives. Tentay Food Sauces Inc’s 1996 Golden Shell Award for Marketing Excellence is proof of the company’s continuous commitment to the same high-standards in food quality control set by its founder.

The Golden Shell Award are annually given by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to outstanding manufacturers of products or services that highlight the Filipino’s ingenuity, craftsmanship and business excellence.

Tentay Food Sauces Inc is the only food sauce company among a handful of awardees who won the highly-contested, prestigious Golden Shell Award for Product Quality Manufacturing Standard and Export Marketing Excellence – an affirmation of TFSI’s ongoing efforts to provide Filipinos and the rest of the world quality products at the best possible value.

Tentay Patis is the only Philippine Brand that passed the strict Japanese Standard in Sodium Benzolate, with not more than .005% or near zero preservative reading, qualifying it easily fot the U.S. Regualtions on fermented foods.

Tentay Food Sauces Inc currently offers a wide range of sauces for a variety of uses from marinating, basting, pouring to dipping. The company’s growing number of products attests to the company’s creativity and continuous product research and development in providing the best tasting sauces at popular prices.
Tentay Food Sauces Inc looks at the next fifty years with pride from its humble beginnings and hope in bringing to the world the unique taste of Filipino sauces – continuously pursuing its battlecry “Ibuhos ang sarap”.

Give the best love you can and cook up a feast with Tentay Patis. For delicious recipes online, you can visit the website: www.tentaysauce.com. Tentay Patis is available in all local leading supermarkets and is distributed in the Middle East, Hongkong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, US, Hawaii and Guam.

Patis is a healthy alternative to and equally matches the use of ordinary table salt. Patis sauce has less of the ’salt’ but more of the flavor and aroma that makes favorite dishes even more tempting.

Sweet Attack at Dessert Factory

Ayala Center-Cebu Terraces is the place be if you are looking for classy and sophisticated setting for dining. So after a company Sportsfest we needed something to rejuvenate our senses, this led us to Dessert Factory!

Dessert Factory serve more than just those delicious dessert plates but we wanted dessert so the non-dessert palate will have to wait when I go back there. Dessert Factory has a selection of meals that you can choose from, like the Tennessee Pork Barbecue and Steamed Fish Fillet. Sound Tasty? I think so too but I was still full we opted for the cakes for now. Once seated, you receive a menu which contains a surprising number of dishes to choose from.

Ambiance plays a role in one's meal I think and despite other people chit chatting while eating, the place gives off a relaxing and homey environment. The place is modern and comfortable as well with its couches and plush cushioned chairs which is unique with Dessert Factory.

Choco Extreme

Brownie Experience

Brownie Alamode

Eskimo Alamode

Each of us spent in the range of Php75.00 to Php90.00 for dessert excluding beverages. All this, only at Dessert Factory

Chowking's Orange Chicken

No, the Orange Chicken is not a mascot!! Chowking's Orange Chicken is a new offering by Chowking's Menu. Chowking's Orange Chicken is available in three sets: the rice chow meal with a generous portion of orange chicken and rice at P69; lauriat, which includes crispy noodles, chicharap and buchi at P99; and salo-salo set for sharing at P125.

Up Close with the Orange Chicken

I’m glad that Chowking came out with their Orange Chicken, cause I'm also a chicken addict! The Orange Chicken was breaded and fried Chicken strips together with a sweet orange-y sauce topped to it. I ended up mixing it with the rice which made the awesome Orange Chicken more Oh-some!

Big Eats at Bigby's Cafe & Restaurant

Why Big Eats at Bigby's Cafe & Restaurant? Cause they serve BIG, seriously! If you have a big appetite and probably a big stomach capacity then this place (Bigby's Cafe and Restaurant) is for you!

I finally spent my Bigby's GC (Gift Certificate) that I got almost a year ago. This time I treated 2 of my YMA-mates Janna and Lulurdie for a chow-down at Bigby's SM City Cebu - Northwing.

Cellphone: "Beepx2" ; Janna: "Wut..?" ; Lulurdie: "Too much Food..."

This is the Fisherman's Catch - Seafood plate

Another view of Fisherman's Catch which is good for 4 people

The Fisherman's Catch plate contains a tortilla-crusted dory fish, squiggly rings and two sticks of pre-grilled boomerang shrimps. This is served with rice as well.

Triple Crunch Platter

Another plate from the menu that we ordered was the Triple Crunch Platter which was supposedly good for (4). If my memory serves me right the platter is a combination of tic-tac-rols, nachos, and sweet onion loops. While eating, Bigby's interior design and ambiance makes the whole experience homey as well. See bellow:

Here's a look of the place's Cool, homey environment and lighting

Interior Design and awesome Lighting fixtures

So if you read above and based from what we ordered, 3 people ordered food good for 8 people, so go figure!! HAHAHAHA Hopefully, there will be more Big Eats at Bigby's Cafe & Restaurant next time so I can devour more of there sumptuous palate!

Tacos + Quesadillas

The first encounter of mexican food that I had is with the Quesadilla and the Taco. I remember munching on these when I was still in High school. The "taco" is a traditional Mexican dish composed of a corn or wheat tortilla folded or rolled around a filling. It is generally eaten without utensils though.

I have eaten the variation which has some lettuce, tomatoes, beef and a soft shell wheat/corn tortilla. The fillings of a taco has multiple varieties ranging from beef, chicken, seafood, vegetables and cheese, allowing for great versatility and variety.

For the Quesadilla, I like it since its CHEESY!! The Quesadilla is a Mexican food made primarily of cheese inside a folded corn or wheat tortilla and cooked until the cheese melts. While cheese is the most common filling, other ingredients are also used in traditional Mexican quesadillas, including cooked vegetables, mushrooms, and meat. Can't wait to eat more Tacos and Quesadillas or even other types of Mexican food!
